Description

The 4×4 Octahedron was invented by Jorgen Brandt in 2001 by extending and truncating the 4×4’s pieces. Interestingly, rotating 2 layers at a time doesn’t scramble the puzzle. This makes the puzzle very difficult to solve since you don’t immediately know what color belongs on each side. This also introduces parity, which is what we call a solve case that is technically impossible due to a piece being placed in the wrong spot. Overall, it turns well but could benefit from some lubricant to prevent lockups and catching.
